The stylish white house that’s home to Pinch Kitchen turns into a chill Sunday party when brunch comes around. The dishes here are as pretty as the surroundings, like eggs in a crispy potato basket that’s as cheery as the rising sun, and the stuffed brioche French toast with guava jam tastes like something that could only be created here in Miami. Add on bottomless mimosas for $25, because we ought to make a day out of this house party.

There are a lot of very good things available at this casual neighborhood spot, but you should come to brunch for two of them in particular: the Pinch burger and the insane feat of engineering that is their stuffed french toast. It’s an entire loaf of brioche that has an oozing pool of guava in its center. Splitting it open and watching it all spill onto your plate is both soothing and satisfying, like a babbling creek or Niagara Falls—if both of those things were filled with hot guava instead of water.

Technically Pinch is located just outside MiMo on 86th Street, but you’re already in the car and it’s literally only an extra 90 seconds if you get a couple of green lights. This place does lunch, dinner, and a really great weekend brunch that’s always crowded. There are some delicious small plates like dumplings, wild calamar, and croquetas stuffed with rotating ingredients. Take a look at the daily special on the chalkboard above the bar too. The Pinch burger is a great choice. It’s got a thick patty and requires some slight jaw flexibility.

The Upper Eastside’s Pinch kind of looks like a house from the street, and it feels that way when you step inside, too. It’s quiet in here, with no blaring music or servers sprinting through the dining room.

Twenty-five bucks will grant diners unlimited mimosas for 90 minutes. That’s plenty of time to fill up on dishes like French toast stuffed with guava and whipped cream cheese, steak and eggs, and chicken and waffles with maple bacon chutney.

Pinch Kitchen owners Rene Reyes and John Gallo met while working at Casa Tua. They spent years together at various Pubbelly operations before realizing their shared dream and opening a cozy spot just north of the MiMo District in 2015.
